Component-level electronics repair for shipbuilding

We do not swap boards. We repair them. Every unit is diagnosed at component level — identifying the exact fault on the PCB, drive, or control system before any work begins. Particularly important in shipbuilding where replacement lead times can hold up an entire build programme.

🔬
Component-level repair — not board swap

We use oscilloscopes, ESR meters, thermal imaging and signal tracing to find the exact faulty component — capacitors, IGBTs, MOSFETs, driver ICs, power transistors. This means we can repair equipment the OEM no longer supports, and get your unit back faster than waiting months for a replacement.

Success story
Emergency generator control system — fault diagnosed and repaired, reliability restored

A shipbuilding company came to us with recurring faults in their emergency generator control system. The faults were intermittent, which made them difficult to diagnose and had already raised concerns about system reliability at a critical stage of the build programme. Our engineers carried out a detailed component-level inspection and fault-finding process, quickly identifying the root cause in the generator control system. The unit was repaired and returned with a written warranty. The client was able to continue the programme with confidence in the reliability of their emergency systems.

Written warranty on every repair

All repairs carry a written warranty confirmed before work begins. You know what you're getting — in writing — before we start.

Terms & conditions: Warranty covers recurrence of the same fault only. It does not cover new faults, damage caused by incorrect installation, power surges, environmental damage, or misuse. The warranty period is confirmed in writing on your repair report before work begins. Warranty is void if the unit is opened or modified by a third party after repair.

Common questions from shipbuilders

What shipbuilding equipment do you repair?
We repair welding machines, motor control systems, AC and DC drives, navigation and positioning systems, power distribution units, control panels, HMIs, automation system boards, and emergency generator control systems. If it has a circuit board and it fails, we can diagnose and repair it.
Can you repair safety-critical systems like emergency generator controls?
Yes. We have repaired emergency generator control systems for shipbuilding clients where reliability is non-negotiable. Every repair is carried out at component level, tested thoroughly before return, and covered by a written warranty. We understand the consequences of failure in these systems and treat them accordingly.
How quickly can you repair my equipment?
Standard turnaround is 5–10 working days from receipt at our Newcastle workshop. If the build programme is at risk, our emergency service returns most units in 1–3 working days. Let us know the urgency when you contact us.
Do you repair obsolete shipbuilding electronics?
Yes — this is one of our specialities. We source components through our global supplier network and repair at component level. We do not need OEM support or spare boards to carry out the repair, which matters when equipment has been discontinued or has multi-month lead times for replacement.
How much does a repair cost?
We provide a fixed-price quote after diagnosis — you know the full cost before we start any work. No obligation to proceed. Diagnosis is carried out within 24 hours of your unit arriving at our Newcastle workshop.
Do you account for marine conditions — salt, vibration and humidity?
Yes. Marine environments are corrosive and demanding. Where relevant, we use conformal coating, marine-grade components, and thorough cleaning as part of the repair and refurbishment process — ensuring the unit is properly protected for the environment it operates in, not just repaired to minimum specification.
