Why offshore operators choose repair over replacement
Offshore downtime is costly. New parts for legacy platform electronics may not exist — or take months to arrive.

Reduces downtime

Component-level repair is faster than waiting on new equipment with long offshore supply chain lead times.

Obsolete equipment

We specialise in legacy and discontinued electronics. If it can't be sourced new, we repair what you have.

Lower cost

Repair typically costs 20–60% of replacement — with no reconfiguration or recommissioning required.

NOF member

NPE is a registered NOF Energy member — recognised supplier to the offshore supply chain.

Warranty included

A 12-month warranty is available on qualifying repairs, backed by our ISO 9001 quality management system.

ROV Repair

ROV electronic repair & refurbishment

When ROV electronics fail offshore, OEM repair routes are often slow, expensive, or no longer available. Northern Power Electronics supports ROV operators and marine and offshore contractors with component-level diagnosis, repair, and refurbishment of the electronic modules inside ROV systems — helping reduce downtime and extend equipment life.

We do not operate ROVs. We are electronic engineers who repair the boards and modules that keep ROV systems working.

ROV electronics we repair

PCBs & control boards
Power supply units & power distribution electronics
Camera & lighting electronics
Sensor interface boards
Communication & telemetry modules
Motor & thruster drive electronics
Control panels & surface control units
Subsea control modules & related subsea electronics

Why repair instead of replace?

Many ROV systems in service today use electronics that are 10–20 years old, with limited or discontinued manufacturer support. Component-level repair restores original boards rather than swapping assemblies — preserving system configuration, avoiding long OEM lead times, and typically costing a fraction of replacement. For obsolete ROV electronics, repair is often the only option.

All repairs are tested under load conditions before return and covered by our repair warranty. Workshop-based repair from our Newcastle upon Tyne facility, with emergency turnaround available for critical breakdowns.
